I know my I grammar is horrible so please help me here, and give me pointers on what to do to make this essay better. Please I need this so be serious and help a broke college student out.

Most people will list all of their UIL awards and other school related activities here, but I am a little different. I grew up in a small town about 30 miles from my school; therefore I didn't participate in many activities that required be me to come in after school hours and there were no students in my age group that I could carpool with. I did, however, participate in many activities such as tournament bass fishing, 4H trapshooting, volunteer fire department, hunting, archery, and other wildlife conservation opportunities. All of which taught many valuable life lessons such as being able to adapt to different situations and find what I am doing wrong and to fix it instead of just quitting and trying something else.
I took three years off from school to decide what kind of career I wanted to pursue, one that I would enjoy and still be able to make a decent living, instead of jumping into college with no idea of what I wanted to do or become. In those three years I worked full-time for a local resort as a bartender, where I had the opportunity to converse with many well educated people about numerous fields from the oil business to dairy farmers. I worked seasonally for a local taxidermist, and for my grandfather as a certified Evinrude outboard mechanic, as well as; continued pursuing my dream of becoming a professional angler and participated in several large tournaments and had several sponsors.
My current plans for the future are to get into Texas A&M to major in horticulture with a minor in business and eventually start my own wholesale landscape nursery. I would like to be able to give back to the community by raising money for students not fortunate enough to participate after school activities, but are active in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.
I have come to realize that nothing will ever turn out the way you planned without hard work and dedication, and that sometimes obstacles in life, however hard they maybe, will help make you into a better person. I believe the education and experiences I will have acquired while I attend Blinn College will have an invaluable effect on my future, and I think I would make a good candidate for this scholarship because I have shown that just because I did not participate in typical after school activities I still have the study habits and dedication needed to achieve a high GPA.
