Lady Godiva asked:

This year is the year I'm going to attempt to hunt. Most years I'm happy to just target shooting and such. My question about archery equipment. What is all the basics one would need for starting out. I have been intersted in archery for a while since i went out and watch my ex and his family hunt.
again, only limited exerpenace with archery. How much does getting started cross. And do since I'm almost compeletly new to hunting, if you get a hunting licence, do you have to get one for say shotgun and archery, or does one cover it all?
(and yes I know about the first time hunters classes, and I'm going to get signed up as soon as I get a better idea of equipment I need to get)

Thankz.

Your best bet is to find a Archery Shop nearby and go ask your questions of them. They will want you as a repeat customer so they will set you onto the correct path from the beginning.

Best of Luck with your new sport and may GOD bless you in that pursuit.

Well being an avid archer. I agree that going to a pro shop would most likely be your best bet. If you have any friends that hunt they might be willing to help. As far as cost i think depends if you buy new or you can find used equipment to buy or borrow. A new bow any where from $300 on up too about $800 for top of the line bow. Good luck …
