Traditional archery, once upon a time, was just called archery.  Through years of innovation and development, bow technology has evolved, not just into a higher form, but into a whole new species.  That being said, over the last few years many shooters have found themselves craving the challenge of the stick and the string.  As such, traditional shooting has grown exponentially over the last decade and continues to become more popular year after year.

When purchasing a new bow, find out if it comes with a bow stringer. If it doesn't, make sure you get one. Always use a commercial bow stringer when stringing and unstringing any bow. If you do, you'll avoid potential physical danger to yourself and your bow. Your grandfather may have used the "step-through" method, but that is totally unsafe for you and the bow, and should NOT be done, even in a pinch. Using a stringer is not really an option; it's simply something you must do! We can't stress that enough.

I was thinking about recurve because I think compound bows are cheating. I can get a $130 bow but those are the kind that camps use and they are not that powerful at all. I wanted one that I could use at a long distance and still be acurate and powerful. I really dont think I can get what I want with the money I have. If you know of any bows that I could get for that price, please tell me. If not, I can always get something that woud have alot more use such as a metal detector, crossbow, buy a whole bunch of clothes, a knife, paintball gun, etc...
