asked:

I've been on two pig hunts so far, both with rifles. On my first hunt i was on some private land and killed a pig within a couple hours; send hunt was in a state wilderness area and never saw a rooting. Another public area near where i live is closed over summer, but will open up again this November to bow hunters only. I have a 70# parker bow, detuned to somewhere around 65# for turkey hunting. Didn't ever get a shot at a turkey this season with the bow, but I'm feeling pretty confident within around 40 yards and I just picked up some new Trophy Ridge Ultimate Steel Broadheads. From what I've read they are field point accurate and deadly as hell.

So here's what i'm asking for. If anyone who has experience bow hunting (or just hunting in general) for big game could give me some pointers about how to pursue pigs, where to look for them, shot placement, how to get close enough for a shot, and tracking once shot. Thanks
By the way I'm stalking them, no dogs. Not sure if i made that very clear

Archery Bow Strings

Keep the bears out of the area!
Got any suggestions?
jakeb,

Wishing it were that easy, but I can't stop putting out the apples and pears or the deers won't get close enough. They won't even come around.
But I have a momma bear and two cubs that are hogging everything. And I just want to get them to go away so I'll see deer. The bears are keeping the deers ran out.
Bear C. & 7mm08,

This year I have been shooting everyday, and fixing my form step by step. I normally wouldn't have to ask a question on here for my family is big on hunting and they have the answers to every question I ask.

The question is, after I get done bow hunting with this smaller, mediocre bw this year, what bow should I try to get next year? Im using a never used 8 year old Darton bow. My Dad said that this bow is good for the time being, but isn't consistent. Im looking to get something like Mathews or Hoyt next year. I don't have alot of money to use, so which kind would you recommend?

Also, what type of arrow and Color of fletching would you recommend? Just an opinionated question.

AvrilLavignefan007 asked:

I'm 19 years old, and I have quite a few questions about bowhunting. Im still pretty clueless, so please dont mock me on lack of knowledge: Im gonna be doing a whole of reading up before this time next year. lol. Can anyone help answer my questions?
1.) I know I need a license. But can't you even get one of those at Wal-Mart?
2.) My brother and dad who have gone rifle hunting (and cant shoot something to save their lives) both took a Hunter's Safety Course. Do I HAVE TO take a Hunter's safety course? Or is it optional?
3.) I would like to put in for Cow elk for next year's season. Someone told me that with bowhunting your odds of getting drawn are alot better too, because not as many people do it.
4.) Im right handed due to breaking my arm when I was learning to draw/color/write all that when I was really little...Prior to then I was left handed. And Im LEFT EYE dominant. Any advice for this?
5.) Im an okay shot with the recurve bows we have. Just simple target practice on trees, snow mounds, cats, etc. But isn't shooting and aim with a cross bow a lot harder? Is bow hunting mostly done with cross bows?
6.) Where to get a bow? Im a college student and thanks to the glory of tuiton dont have alot ot spend. Anyone ever got a bow on eBay with good results?
Any other info you can think of let me know! Thanks!

Bowhunting

My parents got me a Diamond Razor edge for Christmas and i love shooting it, but all the gadgetry on it flat confuses and annoys me, and i don't really have anyone to show me how to work it, it seems as if every time I shoot it needs to be re-sighted in, despite how much i tighten the nuts.
