Bow Cases protect your valuable investment from the elements and from damage while transporting. Soft cases are good for home storage and field use, while hard cases are a must for air travel or shipping purposes.
Recently, I went to a music store that sells violins. After finding one, I went online later and saw that the same violin online costs 200-500 dollars less (on many sites).
Is it just because the store included a case and bow?
What's the difference with buying one from the store or from the internet?
I've been looking for some target arrows and i have yet to find any that meet the length i need for my bow. I live in Maysville / Jacksonville in North Carolina. just in case someone knows of a nearby shop.
While I always make sure to wipe off the rosin from the bow and violin after each session, I'd like to know if I have to keep it in the case at all times when not using it or if I can have it on display (like on a stand or more likely a wall mount). It's in the same room as the case and away from vents and direct sunlight, so aside form the obvious possibility of it getting knocked off/over (stuff happens, so lets just ignore that factor) would it still be okay?
I have a violin in pretty good condition, and if I bought some polish it would look brand new. I also have the case, bow and rosin. Its a quarter size. About how much could I get for it?

How do I know if this violin is a replica or the real deal? The previous owner purchased it in th 1920's and it was used before then. The Label on the inside of the violin reads "Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremona 1654 made in Czechoslovakia" This violin is in mint condition and it has the bow & case with it.I was wondering how much a replica and the real 1654 violin would be worth.
