Here where I live nearly every man thinks he is Robin Hood along with a lot of women and children.They have a archery range that is used a lot but other places no one even seems to have equipment.I can't understand why archery isn't any more popular than it is? what do you think?

Archery can be much more expensive than fishing or shooting.

It requires alot of involvement. #1.deciding to go traditional or with a compound bow. #2 getting fitted for said bow (draw lenth.)#3 Finding the right arrows for the pound weight of pull for your bow. #4 Practice

People believe it to be dangerous and difficult to learn.

Because you can’t shoot a deer 150 yards away with a bow. People don’t want to have to work at anything now days. I bow hunt every year and all the bow hunters out there will agree,” You better know what you are doing , if you want to bring home some game.” So you have to practice, practice, practice. It is easier to buy a gun and scope, go to the range for 1 to 2 hours, and you are ready to hunt.

Above and beyone what many have said already (cost, time, etc.) Archery involves focus and concentration, something that many in today’s society severely lack. Most people can’t sit still for five seconds, let alone learn how to control breathing, take the time to focus and clear their mind. As you can see, shooting my bow is a very “zen-like” thing for me.
